If you’re just getting started on your sewing journey or looking for some new projects, there are tons and tons of free resources to help get you going. Below are a few websites I love for free patterns, how to’s and just some good ol’ knowledge.

    mood fabrics's sewciety blog space is such an incredible resource for new and advanced sewists. They have a TON of free downloadable patterns for you to print and use.

  • Peppermint Magazine

    peppermint magazine has a lovely selection of free patterns when you sign up for their email list. A lot of the pattern designs are for simple but beautiful pieces. They're an incredible free resource but you can donate to them (pay what you can) if you feel so inclined.

  • Glory Allen

    glory allen is a creator that provides free patterns of his own design, ready to wear clothing, and diy kits. If you're just getting into sewing, the diy kits are a cool option. They come with all of the fabric you'll need as well as the pattern and Gutterman thread.

    cool stitches has a small collection of patterns available for download. They are technically free,but there is a suggested price, so if its manageable for you please support!

    the mood sewciety “online school of sewing” has tons of tutorials and how to’s that are great for all levels. Whether you need to learn how to gather fabric or you’re curious about darting, mood has you covered.
